At Ashton Primary School, our EYFS curriculum is underpinned by a clear intent to ensure that every child receives the best possible start to their education. It is designed to support all children to make strong progress from their individual starting points, ensuring equality of opportunity and high expectations for all. Through carefully planned, purposeful learning experiences, children develop the knowledge, skills, and characteristics of effective learning that enable them to become confident, independent learners. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation across all seven areas of learning and prepares children successfully for the transition into the National Curriculum in Year 1. Thematic elements are deliberately flexible, allowing practitioners to respond to children’s interests and needs, ensuring learning remains engaging, relevant, and developmentally appropriate.
