PSHE / RSE
At Ashton we use SCARF, which is a comprehensive PSHE and wellbeing curriculum, including mental health, and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) that meets all the statutory requirements.
We chose SCARF as our scheme because:
- We have assessed the content and feel that it is relevant and sensitive to the needs of the children at Ashton;
- SCARF is able to be used flexibly allowing teachers to adapt the order in which lessons are taught in order to respond to children's needs, issues and questions as they arise;
- Lessons build upon children’s prior learning;
- There is planned progression across the SCARF scheme of work so that children are increasingly and appropriately challenged as they move up through school;
- SCARF has been developed by a team of experienced PSHE consultants;
- Support is on hand for school at all times.
