PE

At Ashton Primary School, we believe that a quality Physical Education curriculum should allow children to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. In a world where busy lifestyles are increasing, children need the knowledge and skills afforded through a quality PE curriculum to understand the importance of being active and living a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, we believe it is important to develop fundamental skills and knowledge about health and fitness in children to enable them to make positive lifestyle choices about diet and exercise now and in the future. Additionally, we wish to develop children’s resilience and teach them positive sporting attitudes so that they may use these transferable skills in other aspects of the curriculum and in their future. By Upper Key Stage 2, our hope is that children have the independence and confidence to engage and succeed in competitive sports and lead healthy, active lifestyles.
