Year six - Arkwright class

'proud to be prestonian'

Our 'Proud Prestonian' is Sir Richard Arkwright (1732-1792), he was an entrepreneur and inventor whose ideas led to him becoming recognised as the 'father of the modern industrial factory system'.  He invented a machine known as the 'water frame', which revolutionised the cotton-spinning process.

our curriculum

This is an overview of what we will be studying in the Autumn term. In it, you will find a brief explanation of what we will be studying in the different areas of the curriculum. It also includes information about, when PE days are as well as our expectations for homework and reading at home.

our work

Year six have been reading the text ' A story like the wind' by Gill Lewis.

We have enjoyed using it as inspiration to write our own 'flashback narratives'. Here are some examples of our writing.
